Child Safe

Carrum Primary is committed to child safety.

We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making.

At Carrum Primary School we have zero tolerance for child abuse and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our policies and procedures. We have legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s safety, procedures are in place which we follow rigorously.

Carrum Primary School is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives.

We support and respect all children, as well as our staff and volunteers. Our child safe policies, procedures, strategies and practices will be inclusive of the needs of all children, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disabilities, and children who are vulnerable and students in out of home care.

As valuable partners in promoting and maintaining child safety and wellbeing at Carrum PS we welcome and encourage your feedback.

If you have any suggestions, comments or questions in relation to our child safe policies and practices, please contact Assistant Principal, Cassie Kennedy.
