Carrum PS, together with our local schools network, is developing a series of seminars for parents, carers and guardians of students in primary and secondary school.
The first event, held on 24 November 2016 at Patterson River Secondary College, featured Andrew Russell, High Performance Manager at Hawthorn Football Club. Andrew shared important messages about how we can support our children to be their best. He discussed the importance of life balance, the power of diet and sleep, stress management and the power of the mind.
The 2017 Parent Seminar Series launches on Thursday 30 March 2017, with Susan McLean, Australia’s foremost expert in the area of Cybersafety and young people, presenting an evening session (7-9pm) for parents and families at the Performing Arts Centre, Patterson River Secondary College.
Susan’s ‘keeping your children safe online’ session will feature information about where children and young people go online, sexting, online grooming, the misuse of technology and its legal consequences and provide parents and carers with some strategies to keep your children safe online.
