Recycling Excursion

Re-use, Reduce, Recycle and Re-think! Our new motto in Grade 1/2.

Our exciting excursion to the Recycling and sorting plant has inspired us. We discovered that old coke bottles are turned into…jumpers!! Glass bottles become Bus Lanes (which glitter) and a 1litre milk carton = 4 pieces of paper! If your plastic scrunches easily it is not recyclable and becomes landfill which takes hundreds of years to break down so let’s all bring lunch boxes and other re-usable┬ácontainers and save our Earth!

National Tree Planting Day

What an exciting Friday! Today is National Tree Planting Day and a wonderful way to kick start our new Orchard and Wetland Habitat. Prep – 5/6 participated in a hole digging, fertilising (eww!), planting, watering and mulching experience. Many thanks to Mrs Galland for her amazing involvement. Eve in Grade 1/2D learned all about grafting and everyone is keen to be on watering duty during the week.
